HAVE A ROCKIN' GOOD TIME AT THE FORT COLLINS MUSEUM'S ROCK, MINERAL AND FOSSIL DISCOVERY DAY
Full Description:
The Fort Collins Museum, in conjunction with the Discovery Science Center, the Fort Collins Rockhounds, and the Colorado State University Geology Club, presents “Rock, Mineral and Fossil Discovery Day” on Saturday, February 24 from 10:30 AM until 2:30 PM. The program is free, and all ages are welcome.
Offered in conjunction with the museum’s new exhibit Rock This Town: a new spin on the geologic record, the Rock, Mineral and Fossil Discovery Day will offer guests the opportunity to explore personal rock collections, check out field tools used by geologists, and hold the remains of plants and animals that lived here over 265 million years ago. Participants are encouraged to bring their own collections of rocks and fossils to the program. Professional geologists will help identify them, explain how and when they were formed, and what uses they may have.
